Sherwin Rodrigues He’s 19 years old, a final year B Com student at HR College, Mumbai. Next stop is B School to pick up an MBA. His Scrabble achievements are formidable. Currently National Champion of India, at the age of 13 he played his first International tournament in Mumbai and came third ! Two time winner of the Goa Open Championship, winner of the Chennai Open and Pune Open in 2008, and fourth at the iGate Internationals 2008. This whiz kid has played twice for India at World Scrabble Championships 2005 and 2007 and also at the World Youth Scrabble Championship 2006. |

Shaila Amalean
A home-maker by profession, Shaila Amalean has been playing Scrabble in Sri Lanka for the last two decades. The competitive bug caught on when she played the Sri Lanka Club Open tourney in Bahrain in 2002 where she finished 7th, a performance that won her the Most Outstanding Lady player prize. Twice the Champion of the Emerald Isle – in 2001 and 2005, she has represented Sri Lanka at the World Scrabble Championship (WSC) in 2005. She attributes her success to a supportive and loving family that encourages her to play competitively and puts up with all the time she spends away from them, which includes her gorgeous Beagle Rafiki. |
